Snowdrops and Butterflies




Every Spring we have these sweet little flowers popping up everywhere. They remind me of Enid Blyton’s much-beloved book The Magic Faraway Tree because they flourish in the shade beneath the huge old Oak trees that are so much a part of Cape Town. I designed this square in Spring and now it’s almost Mid-Summer! Oh, the days are just too short even if the Sun sets in Summer at around 8:30pm! I’m always complaining that there are not enough hours in a day or days in a year! So much yarn so many ideas, so little time even if I lived 200 years!  :D

Nadia Fuad from YARNutopia has included this square in her video tutorial 365 Days of Granny Squares! 

May the crochet fairies always be close at hand!

      Thank you so much!       Hi Sofie! Thanks so much! Oh, you are so lucky to be living in Greece. I used to live and work in Agia Galini in Crete, before it became a popular tourist destination. Happy times, happy memories! I was always treated very kindly and I will never forget that.Sending a big hug! :-) xx

      Hi Jen, I think Crete is beautiful but I never been to Agia Galini it means "Holy Serenity" I live on Lemnos island for 20 years now and I love it here.     Hi Again, Sofia! Yes, I have been to Lemnos as well. I love Greece, and the islands. Pity I don't have buckets of money or I would move there permanaently. :D Yes, all my crochet is done in US terms. There is also a video turorial for this square. Have you seen it?       Hi there! :D I have tested the link several times now, and asked a friend to test it as well, and it is in working order. It's possible that it may have something to do with the PDF viewer on your device or computer? If all else fails, there is the video tutorial? Let me know? xx

    Love this granny square. I'm on number 3 now. I decided to do 4 for my granddaughter's blanket. One for each season. Spring and winter are done. Just started summer ❤

    Hi Jen, I love this pattern! I saw it first on Nadjas YouTube channel and started working on a blanket made from this square. Five squares into the project I thought it would be easier to switch to using the written pattern nbut can't find the link anywhere. Can you send it to me please?

    This pattern is listed as free on Ravelry but...Did you remove it because a video tutorial was made? In MHO a video is not a pattern.

    Still can't find written pattern. Video is good but need written please. Links go in loop from here to video to Ravelry to here again. Please fix. Its a beautiful design.

    I guess I join the others... I have looked for the written pattern and it says its not available any longer... perhaps you could post it on your blog... I love this and I can follow the video but I like to crochet while traveling and no to easy to watch a video whilst in the car

    What beautiful squares. I too would have to be over 200 to make them all and the videos are so good even if the pattern has been not available now. Easy to understand and if anyone feels the need can write down their own instructions as they go on Thanks so much, I am so glad to have found this site

    I wrote the pattern out from the video, I needed it just to be sure I was doing 2 ch instead of 3 sometimes! Disappointing that the designer is no longer managing her blog, life must be in the way!
